Station Eleven is a 2014 novel by Emily St. John Mandel which tells the story of a fictional swine flu that kills the majority of humans on Earth. Though Station Eleven is classified as science fiction, the post-pandemic world Mandel presents is far from impossible given the real-life COVID-19 pandemic. The novel won the prestigious Arthur C. Clarke Award for science fiction in 2015 and was made into a television miniseries for HBO Max in 2021.
